Eurovia Contracting South wins £1.6m CCTV Control Room relocation contract

Eurovia Contracting South’s CCTV division has been awarded the contract for the relocation of a CCTV Control Room for Stevenage Borough Council on behalf of the Hertfordshire CCTV Partnership.

The £1.6 million Control Room design and build scheme, which has been funded by the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, will see the CCTV business reroute all existing transmission circuits (201nr) to the new control room at Cavendish as well as relocate and commission new recording hardware.

The contract also requires the building of a new soundproof CCTV Control Room shell and core with new fit-out of control room furniture, decommissioning and stripping out of the existing Control Room and an equipment upgrade of existing CCTV camera locations throughout the scheme.

Eurovia Contracting South will then provide service and maintenance to support all systems and equipment.

The scheme is part of Stevenage Borough Council’s commitment to deliver significant regeneration of Stevenage town centre and to support the first phase of the development.

The Hertfordshire CCTV Partnership comprises Stevenage Borough Council, North Hertfordshire District Council, East Hertfordshire District Council, and Hertsmere Borough Council and is one of the largest geographical CCTV networks in Europe, managing 545 cameras.

Phil Skegg, Managing Director – Eurovia Contracting, said: “We are currently working with Stevenage Borough Council, and I am pleased that we have secured such a significant Contract with them as we continue to grow in the security and surveillance sector.”

The project is planned to be completed during the summer 2019.
